Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and bestselling author Isabel Wilkerson spent 15 years interviewing more than 1,200 people to write The Warmth of Other Suns, her epic work of narrative nonfiction that tells the story of three people who made the decision of their lives in what came to be known as the Great Migration. Reviewers have acclaimed it as “massive and masterly” (The New York Times Book Review); “a deeply affecting, finely crafted and heroic book” (The New Yorker); and “a brilliant and stirring epic” (The Wall Street Journal). Garnering numerous awards and making over 30 Best of the Year lists, her book is the 2012–13 Campus Community Book Project. Wilkerson is currently Professor of Journalism and Director of Narrative Nonfiction at Boston University and lectures frequently on migration, social justice, urban affairs and 20th century history.
