The virtuoso coloratura mezzo Cecilia Bartoli has won global renown as an opera singer, on the recital stage, as a gifted interpreter and champion of early music, and as a prolific and best-selling recording artist. One of a handful of operatic singers to enter the popular consciousness, the Grammy-winning Bartoli has given performances in all of the world’s great concert halls.
The recital will be accompanied by the Orchestra La Scintilla of Zürich Opera, a distinguished "period" music ensemble formed in 1998 by members of the Zurich Opera Orchestra. The group specializes in the performance of 17th- and 18th-century music on period instruments using historical playing techniques.
