In 2011, Jules Feiffer's beloved cartoon character, the modern Dancer, was brought to life in a collection of two minute films directed by Judy Dennis. The Mondavi Center is proud to host the West Coast Debut of the films, including A Dance to the End of Summer and A Dance to the New Year, which will be screened on repeat between 7:30PM and 7:50PM prior to each performance of Solos, Duets and Trios by the Sacramento Ballet.

The Sacramento Ballet presents  Solos, Duets and Trios – an evening of choreographic genius, athleticism and brilliant innovation - with excerpts from works by some of the most sought after 21st century dance innovators including Edwaard Liang, Trey McIntyre, and others; as well as iconic pieces by world-renowned choreographer George Balanchine, acknowledged universally as having revolutionized dance as an art form.  It will be an evening featuring some of the most brilliant solos, duets and trios in the dance lexicon. Widely recognized as a leading arts organization in Sacramento, the Sacramento Ballet has, for more than 20 seasons, offered the region full-length ballets, Balanchine masterworks and world premieres under the artistic guidance of Ron Cunningham. Their high regard from audiences and critics alike attest to their creativity, artistry and technique.
