The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain
Uni, otherwise known as Heather Marie Ellison, is often described as the love child of Rainbow Brite and Mr. T. After catching the eye of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Johnny Otis, Ellison joined his R&B review opening for artists like Koko Taylor, Ray Charles and James Brown. Since Ellison began performing as Uni & Her Ukelele in 2004, she has released three full albums as well as numerous E.P.s and collaborations, won the SF Weekly Music Award and toured throughout the U.S. and abroad. Uni & Her Ukelele has been described as eclectic, infectious pop and not your usual Ukulele fare.
