The Empyrean Ensemble presents an eclectic program of works inspired by John Cage featuring world premieres by Pamela Z and Craig Walsh, as well as works by Cage, including MusiCircus. Also on the program is the world premiere of Inkless Imagination No. 4, a piece for wireless flying blimp, musical saw, and chamber ensemble by Luciano Chessa in collaboration with Terry Berlier and KDVS; and Coming Together by Derek Bermel. The Mondavi lobby will contain art and sound installations by Sam Nichols, Chris Burns, and students of Bob Ostertag. A pre-performance lecture, "Demystifying the Music," with music Professor Beth Levy will take place at 6 pm.
