Singer-songwriter Stew’s career took an unexpected turn in 2006. After a successful career fronting his two critically acclaimed bands, Stew and The Negro Problem, with collaborator Heidi Rodewald, he transformed his life story into the musical Passing Strange. The show, which debuted at the Berkeley Rep, won a Tony Award for “Best Book of a Musical,” and two Obies. A four-time Tony nominee, Stew returns to his rock and roll roots for this double shot of shows.
