Focus On Film Series
Film is one of the greatest
art forms of our time—I don’t
think a performing arts center
program can be complete without
it. The Vanderhoef Studio
Theatre, with a state-of-the-art
digital projector, is a wonderful
and intimate viewing room.
On six Mondays this season,
the Studio Theatre will become
a much-needed classic art film
house for our region.
—Don Roth, Executive Director,
Mondavi Center

REPLAY THEME
The Focus on Film Replay
Theme features films where
oft-used material is truly
reinvented rather than just
recycled. This includes the two
films of The Man Who Knew Too
Much made 22 years apart by the
same director, Alfred Hitchcock.

GRAPHIC NOVEL THEME
In the last 25 years, the graphic
novel has come into its own as
a respected art form, supplying
the reader with the traditional
beginning, middle, and end
novel format juxtaposed against
the raw visual aesthetic of classic
comic books. In the second half
of the 2009-10 season, Focus
on Film looks at remakes of a
different kind, featuring three
films inspired by seminal graphic
novels.
