The Mondavi Center staff is a diverse team with many interests, but all of us share a passion for the performing arts. As we look forward to the 2019-20 season, we'll be posting videos featuring staff members talking about the three shows they are most looking forward to seeing next season.

Below, Mike Tentis, Campaign and Digital Marketing Manager, shares his top three picks and why he chose them.

The 2019-20 season at the Mondavi Center is bursting with compelling shows, narrowing down the choices to select just three acts to write about was challenging as there are a number of additional shows that caught my eye.  That said, here are three shows that I’m particularly excited about.

Andrew Bird_Meshell NdegeocelloAndrew Bird will return to our stage on October 21. This time he’ll be appearing with special guest Meshell Ndegeocello.  Andrew is a bit of a musical enigma who has embraced a number of musical personas over his career. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and acclaimed whistler who has crafted a successful career by writing an endless stream of smart and catchy songs. Meshell Ndegeocello will be appearing along with Andrew Bird. Although her acclaimed career has also taken a tour through a number of different genres, her commitment to using her voice to speak out for social justice has remained steadfast.

Samin NosratAfter watching her four-part Netflix series Salt Fat Acid Heat, I must admit that I have a bit of a crush on Samin Nosrat. She’s funny, earthy and fearless when it comes to cooking.  As someone who LOVES to cook and is fascinated with global food culture, I’m hoping to be both inspired and informed on January 29 when she takes the stage in Jackson Hall.

Mnozil BrassFriday, March 20th brings us a very special treat from Austria. Mnozil Brass is known for their wacky showmanship as well as their outstanding musicianship. Although I’ve never seen this group perform, I have watched enough of their YouTube videos to know that this is one group I don’t want to miss.

Hope to see you at the Mondavi Center next season!
