Composed of Russia’s leading symphonic virtuosos and led by the electrifying conductor and violinist Vladimir Spivakov, the National Philharmonic of Russia has quickly established itself as the finest and most exciting orchestra to emerge from Russia in many years. The orchestra symbolizes the country’s deep commitment to maintaining its rich cultural traditions and is the designated orchestra for official Russian functions involving heads of state. Olga Kern was the first woman in more than 30 years to win the Van Cliburn competition, in 2001, and is now an international piano sensation.
