Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis

Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis
Tuesday, January 29, 2008 - 8:00pm
Under the leadership of renowned trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is firmly established as one of the best and hardest-swinging groups in jazz. As the resident orchestra at Lincoln Center since 1988, JALC is dedicated to celebrating the jazz tradition with a vast repertory including masterpieces by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Thelonious Monk, and commissioned works by Benny Carter, Joe Henderson, and others. Most of all, this is a band well-known for upholding the highest standards of musicianship and playing with a dynamic sense of swing that few groups can match.
