A trail-blazing initiative from Brazil, the Bahia Orchestra Project assembles the prodigious talents of young musicians into one powerhouse ensemble. Like Venezuela’s acclaimed El Sistema (which brought Gustavo Dudamel to the United States), this youth orchestra vigorously tackles traditional repertoire and new works while winning over audiences and garnering effusive praise from critics. In their debut North American tour, they are joined by the gifted pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, known for his charismatic interpretations and dazzling technical prowess.
