Everything she performs bespeaks perfect technical control yet suggests spontaneous improvisation—the art that conceals art.

The New York Chamber Soloists return to Jackson Hall after their acclaimed 2011–12 season debut with violinist Rachel Barton Pine. This time around, the Soloists, a 26-member ensemble of strings, winds, and keyboard, are joined by classical guitar virtuoso Sharon Isbin, “the pre-eminent guitarist of our time” (Boston magazine). Isbin began her guitar studies at the age of nine in Italy and went on to study with Andrès Segovia, Oscar Ghiglia and other luminaries of classical guitar. The program features fine examples of early 20th century Spanish and Italian works, complemented by the Italian Baroque of Vivaldi.
