Post-Performance Q & A Session |
Only a handful of writers have enjoyed the instantaneous success of Zadie Smith. Even fewer have prolonged that early praise into a sustained career of literary excellence. Smith’s debut novel, White Teeth (2000), was a sensation, pulling in critical acclaim and awards by the dozens. Since her debut, Smith has released three more acclaimed novels, most recently NW (2012), as well as two works of non-fiction. Twice named on Granta’s “Best of Young British Novelists” list (2003 and 2013) she has built a substantial career as one of the finest novelists writing today, while maintaining a tenured position as a professor of creative writing at New York University.
