One of the most prominent period instrument orchestras in the world, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra is led by Nicholas McGegan, “one of the finest baroque conductors of his generation” (London Independent). McGegan celebrates 30 years with the PBO with an all-Handel program showcasing the composer’s Water Music and Music for the Royal Fireworks, pieces written for outdoor performance under the patronage of King George I and II, respectively. Joining McGegan once again is mezzo-soprano Susan Graham, recently nominated for a 2015 International Opera Award in the Readers’ Choice category. Ms. Graham returns to Jackson Hall after her 2009 appearance with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and a solo recital in 2015.
