Science Friday

with host Ira Flatow
Saturday, September 24, 2016 - 8:00pm

From exploring the outer reaches of space to the tiniest microbes in our bodies, Science Friday is the source for entertaining and educational stories about science, technology and other cool stuff. Created in 1991 by host and executive producer Ira Flatow, it’s much more than just a radio show (which airs on over 400 public stations nationwide). Science Friday produces award-winning videos with such titles as “The Unlikely Tale of a Tenacious Snail” and “Your Very Special Microbial Cloud” as well as original web articles covering everything from octopus camouflage to cooking on Mars. Experience a live taping of a show its creators describe as “ brain fun, for curious people.”

With guests:
Ocean acidification & oysters: Tessa Hill
AR Sandbox: Oliver Kreylos & Jeanette Newmiller
Dying forests: Greg Asner (Carnegie) & Christina Restaino
Tardigrades: John Crowe & Carl Johansson (Fresno City College)
Water quiz: Andy Weir (author of The Martian)

Presented in partnership Capital Public Radio.
