Terence Blanchard featuring the E-Collective

Friday, April 20, 2018 - 8:00pm

Socially conscious music rooted in the Black Lives Matter movement, Breathless, Terence Blanchard’s debut album with the E-Collective captures how, in Blanchard’s words, “music and art have the power to change hearts and souls.” This electric, fusion-influenced ensemble boasts guitarist Charles Altura, pianist Fabian Almazan, bassist David “DJ” Ginyard, Jr. and drummer Oscar Seaton, all of whom dedicated Breathless to Eric Garner, a black man fatally injured in an altercation with police, and cite the music’s healing impact as inspiration to keep playing in urban areas across the country.
