Inon Barnatan, piano
Celebrating their 20th Anniversary as a duo, cellist Alisa Weilerstein and pianist Inon Barnatan present a program drawn from the earliest years of their collaboration.
Barnatan, hailed by The New York Times as “one of the most admired pianists of his generation,” and Weilerstein, a MacArthur Fellow known for her rare interpretive depth and emotional intensity, bring their longstanding musical partnership to an evening of four deeply expressive works. Spanning Spanish lyricism and Russian Romantic intensity, the program moves from the folk-inflected color of de Falla’s Suite populaire espagnole to the sweeping emotional breadth of Rachmaninoff’s Sonata in G Minor, with Chopin’s late Sonata No. 3 and selected Preludes from Shostakovich offering moments of intimacy and introspection along the way.
Program
| Suite populaire espagnole | Manuel de Falla |
| Sonata No. 3 in G Minor, op. 65 | Frédéric Chopin |
