Grammy-winning trumpeter Chris Botti, one of the most popular instrumentalists in the world for nearly three decades, makes his Mondavi Center debut on April 4. 

Known for his glowing tone and regal melodicism, Botti has collaborated with superstars including Sting, Barbra Streisand, Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, Andrea Bocelli, Herbie Hancock and Yo-Yo Ma. The brilliant bandleader and composer has topped the jazz charts with numerous albums, earned multiple gold and platinum records, and performed with symphony orchestras and on prestigious stages from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl to the Sydney Opera House.

Having successfully crossed over from jazz renown to pop stardom, Botti’s 2023 debut album with Blue Note Records,  Vol. 1, found him crossing back with a project focused on acoustic jazz and classic standards including “My Funny Valentine,” “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered” and “Danny Boy.” The recording spotlights his clarion, heart-wrenching trumpet and flair for investing the narrative of a song with high drama and vibrant emotion.
