The High Kings and Socks in the Frying Pan - Mondavi Center - Mar 17, 2020

 A complimentary beer tasting featuring a selection of local breweries precedes a double-bill of The High Kings, a multi-platinum Irish folk group of four vocalists/instrumentalists formed in Dublin; and Socks in the Frying Pan, a young traditional trio from Country Clare that blends classic Irish melodies with innovative rhythmic and melodic garnish.

Grammy-nominated artists Alfredo Rodríguez and Pedrito Martinez first worked together on Rodríguez’s 2012 release Invasion Parade. Since that initial recording session, they have had the rare occasion to perform together as a duo, leaving audiences completely mesmerized by their fearless and virtuosic playing.

When you think of an orchestra, you think classical music. That’s not the Metropole Orkest. Playing jazz, pop, world music and film scores, the Metropole Orkest has shared the stage with legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Metheny, Brian Eno, Herbie Hancock, Basement Jaxx and Bono.

This Metropole Orkest tour has been canceled.

Vladimir Feltsman, piano - Mondavi Center - April 3, 2020

In this third and final edition of his concert trilogy, Vladimir Feltsman shares the final act of a story he began telling at Mondavi Center in 2018. In this final program, titled “Inspirations,” Feltsman will perform his interpretations of works by Beethoven and Schubert.

Hell or High Water - Mondavi Center at UC Davis, May 3, 2020

This year’s Focus on Film series presents three films that coordinate with the Campus Community Book Project’s theme of gun violence. The third in the series is the film Hell or High Water. The American Film Institute selected it as one of its ten Movies of the Year, and it was nominated for numerous awards, including four Oscars.
