Branford Marsalis & Dianne Reeves Celebrate John Coltrane

NEA Jazz Masters and Grammy winners Branford Marsalis and Dianne Reeves come together to celebrate the centennial of John Coltrane with a new album and international tour.  

Five-time Grammy Award winner Dianne Reeves is one of the world’s preeminent jazz vocalists. Celebrated for her virtuosity, improvisational brilliance and seamless blend of jazz and R&B, Reeves made history as the first vocal artist to win Grammy Awards for three consecutive recordings in the category of Best Jazz Vocal Performance.

Julian Lage Quartet

Guitarist Julian Lage is widely acclaimed as one of the most prodigious musicians of his generation.  His latest project, Scenes from Above, features a new quartet with legendary keyboardist John Medeski and an all-star rhythm section of bassist Jorge Roeder and drummer Kenny Wolleson. Drawing inspiration from folkloric traditions, the music is warm, soulful, organic and reflects Lage’s deepening interest in writing with a band fully in mind.

Celebrating Wynton Marsalis’ final season as Artistic and Music Director, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis takes the stage in a milestone moment for the world's premier big band ensemble. 

Featuring 15 of today’s most accomplished jazz soloists, ensemble players and arrangers, the Orchestra performs new works alongside timeless classics by Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk and others, marking a poignant culmination of Marsalis’ transformative leadership.

Ambrose Akinmusire Quartet

Composer and trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire creates work that transcends genre, weaving threads of jazz, hip hop, contemporary classical music, and spoken word into compositions that are as poetic and graceful as they are bold.

Akinmusire studied at the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz in Los Angeles, where he was mentored by Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Terence Blanchard. Named Best Trumpet in the DownBeat Critics Poll for eight consecutive years, he has earned a reputation as one of the most vital composers of his generation. 

Charlie Hunter and Ella Feingold Trio

Guitar innovators Charlie Hunter and Ella Feingold join forces for an evening of musical conversation. 

Hunter, renowned for his custom seven- and eight-string guitars, weaves bass lines, melody and harmony into a single, seamless voice. Feingold, whose dynamic career includes work with Silk Sonic, The Roots, Erykah Badu and many others, is celebrated for her command of rhythm guitar, fluid groove and groundbreaking inverted tuning approach, bringing her own distinctive edge to the exchange.

Acclaimed pianist and composer Isaiah J. Thompson offers a heartwarming holiday season gift with A Guaraldi Holiday.
